An excerpt from chapter 4.
“Stripping every deadened limb,
Rending the bark from my trunk,
Laying bare my fragile heart
. . . winter came . . .”
“Once we reached our neighborhood, we had to park a block or so from our house due to downed trees, debris, and flooding. We waded through the water and around debris to reach our home. The flood line stopped just short of reaching our front door.
Sometimes the circumstances we face in life hit us like a hurricane. No matter what precautions we take, a point in time comes when we have to sit tight and ride out the storm.”
[An excerpt from Three Days at Sea by Delana H. Stewart.]
Since there are twenty-five chapters in my new book Three Days at Sea: Soul flotation when the waves are pulling you under, I decided to share a quote a day (one from each chapter) until Christmas. Hope you enjoy them! Come back tomorrow for the next one…
