Crashing over the rocks along the shore, splashing the air with saltiness, waves create beauty and mystery. I could sit for hours watching such sights or close my eyes and listen to the sound of the waves. People have made recordings of waves to promote relaxation, peace, and happiness.

Ninety-eight foot tall waves, however, wreak havoc – destroying everything in their path. Horrifying, monstrous waves come like a thief in the night.

We create waves in our own lives. What kind of waves are we? Like rock polished silky-smooth by the water, do we let God’s love, compassion, and forgiveness wash over us so we become a thing of beauty? . . .
